- See Less - As a former US Under 23 National Champion, Sam looks to garner more podium appearances now that he has graduated to the elites and continues his rise within the American mountain biking scene. A 2007 highlight for Sam was being a member of the bronze medal USA relay team at the Mountain Bike World Championships. The Missoula, MT, native lives and trains in Colorado Springs. Most of the videos we do here are either race footage or talking about that race. Every once in a while we catch the athletes behind the scenes to get a better look at life off the bike. My most memorable of these was Dinner With The Fishers. Easaly the best team on domestic soil this season, it was cool to take you inside a typical night on the road with Sam, Jeremy, Heather, and Willow. Below are some of the other favorites...
Totally agree about the iPhone. I cannot imagine traveling without it...particularly with Tripit.com . Sam's hair is now longer than Willow's ! Nice people. Cool team. UNBELIEVABLE dream season.
Colt, how about a poll on the most admired woman cyclist? Willow, definitely, Emily, yes....(for classy reasons, you can't really come out and ask, Who is the hottest? Or can you? haha)
Over the course of the year, we've talked to hundreds of riders post race and analyzed the events of the weekend looking back. At the final stop of the 2009 US Pro XCT at Windahm Mountain we took a look inside team Subaru/ Gary Fisher and their ever important pre race meal. Willow Koerber went on to win the Pro Women's XC the following day while JHK and Heather Irmiger took home overall series crowns. Meanwhile Sam Schultz was throwing his bike across the line within inches of the worlds best. In short, maybe take some notes... August 25, 2009
