This weekend, the VERGE New England Series stops in Northampton, Massachusetts for the 19th annual Cycle-Smart International. The oldest UCI race on this side of the pond will attract a lot of the continents best as riders hurry for UCI points before the following weekend's UCGP's in New Jersey.

Meet & Contact Information

 -No Race Day Registration, Pre-registration only. Number pick up begins at 7:00 AM on the day of the event.


-Friday's number pick up and pre-event get together from 6-9 p.m. will be in the Eastworks building in Easthampton. Eastworks is a converted mill building about 4 miles from downtown Northampton, and the is the Western Mass office for Cycle-Smart and New England Bicycle Consulting. We'll have a few of the big names coming to the race to hang out, so stay tuned for more details. There'll be beer, snacks, music, trainers for an opening up ride, and races from last years Super Prestige and GVA series on the tv. Come drink beer, talk to people, get numbers, and get dirty.

-Collegiate/NCCA riders may enter their appropriate category, but must note which school they represent as their teamname, race in their NCCA jersey, and show an active NCCA license at registration.


-Elite Men and Women must have UCI license. U23 prizes are awarded within the Elite Men class.

Information:  Riders entering the Elite Women, Elite Men, and U23 Men races MUST have a UCI/USCF International license. UCI rules apply. No flat bars or tires wider than 35mm. A domestic USA Cycling license is acceptable for other categories, and are run under USAC permit. Mountain bikes without bar ends are allowed in USAC classes.

For separate starts, groups are staged with a gap, stay where they are on the line, and are started at 60-second intervals.

Riders in UCI events will be staged by UCI ranking, then order of registration. Riders in USAC events will be staged by Verge NECCS standings, then order of registration.

Elite Men's prizes will have 2% deducted from the published prize list for the UCI Riders' Contribution to the Fight Against Doping.

Registration: Online Registration closes on Thursday, November 5, at 5 pm. Pre-registration only, and absolutely no refunds. On line service fee applied based on Bikereg.com standard service fee rates.

Number pick up opens at 7 am and closes 30 minutes before each event. Failure to pick up your number at least 30 minutes prior to your event will result in your number being reassigned.

Showers:  showers are available at the JFK school Aquatic Center from 10a.m. to 4:30p.m., anyone using the showers must be out of the building by 5:00. Access is from the back of JFK near the tennis courts - through the glass triple doors. Racers must check in at the pool office.

Directions to Look Park

Traveling south on I-91, take exit 20 to the first stop light and turn right on Bridge Rd. Bridge Rd. ends at Look Park. Take a left on Rt. 9, and an immediate right into the park.

Traveling north on on I-91, take exit 19 and continue straight on to Damon Rd., which becomes Bridge St. Bridge St. ends at Look Park. Take a left on Rt. 9, and an immediate right into the park.

Parking: Look Park will charge $5 per vehicle for one day of parking, but will be discounting the fee to $7.50 for both days.

No Page, Trebn, or TJ. But Jamey Driscoll, Adam Craig, Nick Weighall, and Jesse Anthony all have a shot.
