On a course made almost entirely of ice and snow, Katerina Nash (Luna) won the Elite Women's Czech National Cyclocross Championships earlier today. In dominating fashion she left the rest of the field in her wake. Nash, a former Czech Olympian in Cross Country skiing and Mountain Biking, has been living and racing in the USA for the better part of a decade. With the Worlds being held in her home country this year, she has extended her season to include several European races culminating with the World Championships at the end of this month. Pavla Havlíková finished second to Nash at nearly a minute down. Zdenek tybar won the Men's event. The race was hosted in the city of Tabor, which in three weeks time will play host to the 2010 Cyclocross World Championships. The home field advantage should be a big advantage when Nash competes for the rainbow jersey.
