Canada's fastest Mountain Bike racers lined up together today in Saint-Felicien, Quebec, for the 2012 Canadian National Championships. Long time Canadian King Geoff Kabush was looking for his 8th Elite title while Max Plaxton raced to defend his 2011 crown. Quebec's own Raphael Gagne set the pace early while Kabush and Plaxton watched each other. Two laps in it was Kabush who went to the front and set a fast pace, dropping all but Plaxton on the 5k course. With 1.5 laps to go Plaxton began to seperate himself from Geoff and grew that advantage all the way to the finish.

Plaxton has looked incredible these past few weeks. If he could do top 10 in Europe at the world cup imagine what he can do these next two weeks here in north america...
