Jeremiah Bishop and Sid Taberlay go into the final turns together in today's US Cup Triple Crown. With a handful of lapped traffic in the way, things got sketchy. Tell us what you think below!

who really cares about a 2nd rate event with a similiar caliber of riders?

Why are you all pointing out the soon to be lapped riders. These guys are suppose to be pro riders, race what comes your way. You also all missed that ST chain came off and sucks bad before he goes down, due to the stick in the rear.

No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you... he *rubbed* you. And rubbin, son, is racin'.

It wasn't the Grassy Knoll or the Stick.

Mark Cavendish 2 years ago

Doesn't look any worse than what I would have done.

Stick had nothing to do with it! JB comes into Sid and his bar catches Sid's leg! Fecking LAME!

Jeff Caisse 2 years ago

as was said before, it looks to me like the stick in Taberlay's frame/wheel stopped him up and that rider to be lapped should have been pulled. not sure how long the course was though so maybe officials thought the rider wasn't going to get passed when they went off for the final lap.

100% on the stick

Hey everyone I did my best to get out of the leaders way. I just thought I could drop them in the berms and then pull off on the road.

Harry, you told me no one passes on the outside of turn four?!?

Ricky Bobby 2 years ago

Sid should have taken that stick and beat Jeremiah over the head with it.

Anonymous Coward get a life! Every race I see Taberlay do has been exciting and it's good for the sport. As for the crash, you can see that Sid got as frustrated as anyone would be with those officials. One thing that I admire about him is that he never talks badly about another rider like some others. Credit to him.

Guys, watch the video. Lappers got in the way earlier in the lap and Sid had to go off course to get around and picked up a huge stick in his rear wheel. You can see him pull it out after the first berm but if you look close he only snaps it in half and a big piece is still jammed between the wheel and seat stay. He crashed because the stick caught a spoke and stopped him dead in his tracks. Wouldn't be suprised if he broke a couple spokes for that matter. He'd have gone down even without all the choas going on around him. 0% JB's fault.

Rubbin' s racin boys, and I don't see anything wrong in the clip that's posted. Maybe lapped traffic got in the way, and you could have had some better officials, but when you open up racing to amatuers with Pro's that's going to happen.

These comments remind me of JP and Tim J at Gloucester...

Hot dam guys, it's just racing! It's the last turn before the finish and they are trying to win the race! I can see you all getting pissed if this happened on a pre-ride, but this is a RACE! First one across the line wins!

thank u david for clearing that up for me and for you mr miller what town do u live in

loan rida 2 years ago

dude what is up. why are u so pissed off im not bashing any riders or any trails. ill say it again curious why the field is so small. and yes im from va i live about an hr from this race

Steve Miller 2 years ago

at least im using my real name boys!

David Lowinoski 2 years ago

The field is small cause USA cycling f#cked with the schedule so people wouldn't do US Cup races.

And the crash is 50% Jeremiah's fault and 50% USA Cycling's officials. That rider should have been pulled, yes, but he wasn't. And Bishop shouldn't have been trying to attack every other second with a rider in front of them like that. He tried to jump Sid at the top after Sid pulled the stick out of his frame and then had the door slapped in his face. Then he gets his panties in a bundle and tries to hit a home run through the grass. Sid had to speed up to keep JB back and they both ended up jumped behind the lapper. I take it back, 90% USA Cycling's officials and 10% Bishop.

Regardless of the lapped riders, Taberlay was fumbling early on which made JB take the overtake. From here its obvious that ST took a tight turn on the final berm and didnt hold his line causing his own crash.
