Sweet goodness! I like these.

@jsilva,

maybe we will..

Jsilva 6 months ago

I love the show but have a question. Why in the world we don't have the show trough the MTB season.

Chris L. 6 months ago

So kind of new to Cyclocross here, how good is Jeremy Powers against the best in the world? And why do he and Ryan not race over in Europe? Would think it'd be the same as road where at some point you go to the top "pro Tour" team that does the big races. But I don't see that in Cyclocross.

Chandler Delinks 6 months ago

Why don't you have any Cat 3s on the list?

Alex 6 months ago

These are awesome! Best part of my mon-fri!

Nicole,

You and Chloe went back and forth at Louisville. I think she had a combined lower total for both days but your ride on Sunday was a lot more impressive than Chloe's good ride on Saturday. At least you should move up 1 spot next week now that Mani is no longer in North America.

Nicole Duke 6 months ago

ok. im sick of being 8th...

How many hours of your life were lost practicing that intro?

...Definitely Worth It!!!

I called it in her post race interview. JOTW for Kaitlin. Yep. Nice.

SPOTLIGHT.

Stan 6 months ago

Dave,

Brian and Tristan split the weekend evenly, and Brian has been as good or better the past 2 weeks. He beat Tristan at ICEMAN as well. I think this is the year we see Brian move up as the top rider out of Wisco!

Thank you Greenware! It's great to have people supporting cyclocross outside of the cyclocross business.

Dave McElwaine F 6 months ago

Great stuff this week. Can't argue much with the ratings. While it was brave of Ryan to race on Sunday, it was very painful (for me) to see him barely able to climb the stairs. I sincerely hope he did not make his injury worse by racing. Jeremy told me that Todd Wells is one of the riders he really respects. Given Todd's ability to peak for nationals, both he and Ryan are going to have to deal with a fresh defending champion. Tristen Schouten and Brian Matter split the weekend so Tristen should be rated above Brian based on prior record. Jon Page has a mystery illness that apparently could nix his season. Word is that he is trying to figure out what is wrong.

I am sorry that Katie Compton was so-off-the-front because she could use some in-the-pack racing to get ready for her upcoming European campaign. Kaitie Antonneau certainly was amazing and is only going to get better. Not to diminish Katie's accomplishments but Katerina Nash was sick both days in Louisville and could be seen vomiting during the race. If she were not so humble, that would have been taken into account. Crystal Anthony cannot beat the top 22 women on a regular basis....but she is a tad better than 28th. I love it that Jesse is sticking up for his sister.
I sincerely doubt that you will see team-mates Heather Irmiger, JHK, and Emily Batty racing much more cross. It is critical for them to get ready for an Olympic year on the mountain bikes. Might as well drop them from the list.
Yes, Colt is some sort of savant when it comes to remembering this stuff. Also, you should try watching this week's video with the sound turned off. Hysterical.

KPCX 6 months ago

Colt, I wish you would explain every person ranked the way you just did for Crystal. Makes a lot more sense. Altho I imagine the video would have to be an hour long to do that :)

Also, how on Earth do you keep track of all these riders and all their results week in and week out? Does CyclingDirt have some master computer or are you just an autistic savant? Deff, definitely ranked 30th. yeah, 30th. lol

Colt McElwaine 6 months ago

@ Jesse, looked at it again and she moves up from 30 to 28 over Gory and Anderson.

Alright, 19th for Crystal both days in Louisville. Ranked 28th this week. 19 of the 27 women ranked in front of her were in Louisville and beat her both days or had a lower combined score adding both day's results together. 5 of the 8 who were not there have had top 10 results in the last few weeks on a big stage (Irmiger/ Powers in Boulder, Batty wins canadian Nationals, Dombroski in Europe, etc) Another 1 who was not there beat her last weekend at CycleSmart (Sally Annis).
The 2 in front of Crystal that you could really argue would be Serena Bishop Who has owned the Cross Crusade series but has not really gone head to head with any big names yet this season. And Lyne Bessette, who beat Crystal last time they raced in New Gloucester, but has been absent from Cross for a few weeks (altho still racing bikes, and killing it, as you know.)
That said, her last name is Anthony, which is probably worth more than we are valuing it.

Smiley 6 months ago

Can't wait for next season when Todd and all the MTB/ Road guys who don't usually race a full season will do so and hopefully go to Worlds in Louisville. Going to be sweet to see them all doing and World Cups, etc.

Anonymous Coward 6 months ago

BEST INTO EVER.

Hahaha 6 months ago

My opinion is actually that these are really pretty accurate but perhaps that's because I don't have any connection to any of the riders to get my emotions involved. Seems like like a good thing that there are so many strong regional riders that 20th and 40th are not even that far apart in actual performance.

Jesse Anthony 6 months ago

Colt,
Why is my sister, Crystal, still down in 30th spot? She finished top-20 (19th to be exact) both days at Louisville, and has been top 5 at almost every UCI race in New England this year. She's 8th in the Shimano New England Pro CX series, and top-20 in UCI points in North America. Look at the list, dude, half the women in front of her have been top-10 at a regional event or two. Results don't lie, she's better than 30th in NA.

I don't envy you trying to put these rankings together, but if you really want feedback, you got it! See you sometime, and have a great Thanksgiving.

Jerking off gives you strength for arm wrestling.... Just sayin

Sven Albert 6 months ago

I love this site and the rankings for entertainment but the formula you apply does not seem to add up. If 50% of the rankings are based on "what have you done last weekend" why is Keough ahead of Lindine (who was 12th and 16th as USGP and ahead of some big names day 2). Also, the same logic goes for Matter and Schouten who beat most of the guys ahead of them both days. Seems like Matter, Shouten and Lindine should all be in the top 15. Finally, I love the bear but he is ranked way too high. He has lost to Lindine, Matter and Schouten in all but maybe one race this year. Oh and Durrin is not even in the same league as Lindine...

AKA Cyclocross 6 months ago

Julie Krasniak will be back on top, just a matter of figuring this cyclocross thing out! Don't forget, she really just started racing cross a couple weeks ago. She's a World Cup MTB racers with the engine just not the Cyclocross Skill quite yet. I bet she goes top 5 both days in Bend.

Barry 6 months ago

Jonathon Page has some serious health stuff going on right now. Just heard from a very Reliable source. Colt, Nice work once again!

Would love to support Greenware, but where the heck do I buy the cups?
