You are correct that Jamey is not inconsistent in terms of being a top ten rider. But, his first race at Cross Vegas where he finished second was his best by far. It was also the strongest field, proven by the fact that the French champion Moureau won it. But then Jamey proceeded to finish 6th, 10th, 8th, 7th, 2nd, 4th in USGP races (which are the only ones that where all Americans are there). These all were lesser fields than Cross Vegas. I just had though he might be much more consistent this year in terms of being on USGP podiums. He is a great rider with a great future....but I think he is 7th right now in USA racing.

This Weekend!
VERGE NECCS Finals, Warwick, RI
Greenware USGP Finals, Portland OR (LIVE!)
Hi Guys,This past weekend is a bit hard to put into perspective. TJ seemed to suffer from the typical problems that Americans face when they go to world cups. Page, while still not 100% put in decent performances. Powers suffered from lack of A-level competition in Sterling. I can assure you he was on cruise control and those races do not give us much information on the next two weeks.I think Page deserves to go back on top of the list. I am going to leave TJ second because he is the favorite (in my opinion) for Portland and Bend. Jeremy is so close behind it is really ridiculous right now.Jamey....flashes of brilliance again at Jingle Cross but his inconsistency this year forces me to leave him at 7th.Adam Myerson and Justine Lindine are almost identically fast after an hour of racing. If Myerson is 16th then Lindine should be 17th. I wish I could see their races in Rhode Island this coming weekend for the Verge Championship.Travis Livermon was incredibly fast at Sterling.....and in the same league with Derek St. John. Both deserve to be ahead of Nick Keough who is progressing nicely but not quite there yet.I am going to go out on a limb for Jesse Anthony. No freakin' way he can continue at a mid-20's riders. I think he will be top ten in Portland. i hope you read this Jesse!Geoff Kabush. Having covered a hundred or so of his mtb races including a world cup win in Bromont, nothing he does surprises me. Given the competition at Portland, however, I think the chances of him winning there are not great.ELITE MEN1. Jonathan Page (Planet Bike)2. Tim Johnson (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com)3. Jeremy Powers (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com)4. Todd Wells (Specialized/ Cal Giant)5. Ryan Trebon (Kona)6. Geoff Kabush (Maxxis-Rocky Mountain)7. Jamey Driscoll (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com)8. Adam Craig (Giant/ Rabobank)9. Tristian Schouten (cyclocrossracing.com/Blue/Rolf)10. Chris Jones (Rapha Focus) Elite Women----Katie's world cup win is one for the record books. For her not to prevail at nationals is highly unlikely. Her bike would have to fall apart but that is not going to happen. From Day One on these rankings I have been saying "Respect. Compton. Period"Last week I ranked Amanda Miller ahead of Sue Butler. She is a shocker. So sorry she will not continue past this point. She deserves the #4 spot for this week. What I saw at Sterling is this....on an open course Natasha Elliot is virtually the same speed as Laura Van Gilder. On a technical, twisty course Sally Annis, Mo Bruno-Roy, and Andrea Smith can be added to those two....almost no difference. I am moving Natasha in to 10th position.ELITE WOMEN1. @colti hear you on the traveling for page but it'd still be nice to end the speculation between page/johnson/powers at nats. but what can you do...
hard to separate powers/johnson/page. page had a decent result at koksijde last weekend while johnson didn't fair so well. wish page would sack up and race nationals so we could settle this... he's not in the running for a world cup/superprestige/gva win (no american man is) so why doesn't he race for a national jersey? you wouldn't see nys, stybar, albert, etc NOT race their national championship race... other than that the men's side looks good. feeling a kabush win on one day of the USGP.as for the women, it's great to see an american crush the euro field at a world cup. katie compton will win the world championship barring any unforeseen injury.
