Freaky winter weather hit the 2011 Sagebrush Safari. The whole mountainous racecourse had to be scrapped in the hours before the race. It was replaced by a new 5.5 mile course where fitness was more important than climbing ability. Adam Morka (Trek Canada) took advantage of the course and conditions to win his first ever U.S. Cup race
