The small ski village in the far North of Canada was host to a Mountain Bike World Cup only a few years ago that led to the creation of the mountain bike trails.
A few low lying spots on the course have some mud, for for the most part the track is bone dry. Of course, this could all change quickly with rain in the forecast for tomorrow's race day.
The trail work that has been done to get this course ready and make it worthy of a National Championship venue has been second to none.
As with a a lot of Eastern Canada race courses, the trail is littered with bridges, flyovers, and underpasses in an effort to keep the racers closer to the venue and spectator accessible.
The highest parts of the lap are lines with aspen trees as far as the eye can see.
The final 0.5K of the course is a very steep/ very technical decent through the trees off the ski slope.
Some single track with huge burms has been cut right in t the slops/
One of the many flyovers on the course. This one comes only seconds after starting the lap.
As a fan, you have the option to watch the racers pass more than ten times on the 6.5K lap.
With about 95% single track, it does open up every so often to a jeep road to allow for passing/recovery
The trails here at the mountain get ridden more this weekend then the rest of the year combined here in St. Felicien, leaving them looking freshly cut in some places.
Plenty of room to pass on many of the Down Hills if you're willing to take "the other line"
