This is Legit!

Colt,
Cyclingdirt should do a Fantasy Cyclecross with $$ for the winner at the end of the season.

WI 8 months ago

how about Schouten? 7th overall USGP last year, another WORS series win this year and was running 7th at starcrossed until he had a mechanical on a borrowed bike because his bikes were lost by the airline.

Paul,

No doubt Brian Matter could beat a couple of the guys on this list if they all raced 'cross today. His win at Chequamegon was stellar and a great sign for his form coming into WISCO this weekend. But, until he suits up on the cross bike, I don't think it's fair to the guys who have been out there putting it on the line the past two weeks.
The only rider ranked who hasn't raced 'cross yet this season is Katie Compton. Brian's got a few National titles to win before he gets that kind of honor.

Paul Belknap 8 months ago

No Brian Matter? I know he hasn't raced 'cross yet, but he rode with (and beat) to protour riders at the Chequamegon 40, so he's obviously got some fitness. I'd put him at 15th just for that. I'm guessing he'll be ripping in Madison this weekend.
I kind of already miss watching colt doing "who's #1" while freezing his ass off outside his dorm.

Yeaaaa Cross! So glad this is back. Love this feature!

Glad to see "Who's Number 1" is back...makes for an interesting mid-week review.

Hard to quibble with too much, especially since the season is still so young, but the earlier comment is right, Bruno-Roy should be on the list, probably 11 or 12 at this point.

Lindine was really impressive this weekend. Soloed to win on Saturday in Vermont against some serious talent, then hangs with Driscoll, Powers and Bazin on Sunday after an early mechanical. Bump that man up if pulls another good result at the UCI race in Burlington, VT this weekend.

Noah tautfest 8 months ago

Where is Nicolas BAZIN shouldn't he be in the top five? He did take Catamount Grand Prix!

Jed Zilla 8 months ago

Well, I do have reptile like skin, hence the name Jedzilla...More of an Action Wipes kinda guy. Maybe all those times I have gone over to the TMZ website is influencing the ads I see...

Colt McElwaine 8 months ago

Jed,

They're actually picked automatically for you based on your personal internet history. Been doing a lot of body wash searching lately?

Jed Zilla 8 months ago

Is the Dove Body wash commercial chosen by you Colt?

What's the deal with Jesse Anthony this cross eason? Dude has been KILLING it on the road! could see this be the season he finally lives up to the hype consistently.

Craig Richey was solid in WA state. 12 and 11 right behind number 13 Aaron Schooler. He's hitting east coast and then Euro, will be one to watch. Also, Cross Crusade all star Sheppard looks even fitter then last year, big things. I think Troy Well should tickle the bottom the list.

Dave McElwaine F 8 months ago

Awesome report. Would probably say Powers, Heula, Trebon, Driscoll, Johnson. Wells should be lower as he will disappear for a month. Page will turn himself inside out again in Madison but to no avail. I figure Trebon and Powers split the weekend. As for the women, Katie and Katerina are so far ahead of anyone else it is amazing. But....Respect. Compton. Period. Yeah, Mo needs to be on the list. Kelli Emmett told me she will not even race the Colorado races. Done. Amy D was amazing at Cross Vegas.....labored breathing but she sucked it up and bolted out of the chase group on sheer guts. Georgia....if for any reason she wanted to specialize in Cross, she and Katerina would be even.

@6:26 HAHAHAHAHA. Love it.

I agree that this is the year of the POWERs. He was best and most consistent rider all 2010, just had another strike of bad luck at Nats. Not to take anything away from Todd who came on great the last 2 weeks of the season, but Wells rode at 75% all season and showed up to Nats at 100%. Powers rode all year at 95%.

This is so great for cross!

Mo Bruno won the new england opener at Quad CX by a minute over Andrea Smith. Last weekend she beat or was in a sprint with Devon Haskill & Pepper Harlton both days. I'd say that's better results than Arley Kemmerer or Teal Stetson-Lee have put up. But the season is young.

Colt McElwaine 8 months ago

AC,
7th and 6th this weekend for Mo... Not bad but not super either. Who's place on this list does she deserve and why? I could be convinced..

Anonymous Coward 8 months ago

No love for Mo Bruno-Roy this week? Why do you hate Boston, Colt?
