Ben Berden #1!

Logan Owen is not ranked because he is a Junior. There are probably 10 Masters racers who could make this list too but you just can't compare.

Tracy Whitaker 2 years ago

Jim carey doing "Who's number one" Tortured soul that is Justine LIndine. The big dogs that go to Europe , have professional support and the throngs of male and female lovers on this site, had better beware when they line up against Justine. That "kid" has the heart of a lion. He makes no excuses or states that other people have "better legs right now" or any of that other horse thrown about by people saving themselves by hiding in a fox hole that is the excuse that Im preparing for that " single race known as the nationals"

davemess 2 years ago

So why is Logan Owen not ranked? The kid has been killing the Seattle scene for a couple of years now (although he definitely does not look like a junior).

As usual, I think there is too much focus on NE.
Damian is right, and some of the NW guys should be higher ranked. Just because you have a C2 race does not automatically make the field quality. Boobs had a great weekend in FoCo. and should be ranked higher.
Heck The Deckerator came out Crusade retirement this weekend, I'm assuming he'll do Bend.

Damian S 2 years ago

Chan, can I call you Chan? If that's the case, then I'll give you a hint at who will be #1 next week. There's no place like home(apologists).

cdelinks 2 years ago

Damian (Schmitt, I presume), the only way the NW riders will get to the top of this list is if Colt does a special episode of Who's #1 for Costumes.

Damian S 2 years ago

Alright, you need to give the NW a little more cred. Just because we're not UCI every weekend, doesn't mean guys in the top 10 in N.E are all better than our top guys. Tuckerman had good rides in WA at the UCI races and is crushing us at the Crusades. Ranking some of those guys above him and Boobs just doesn't make sense. Reeb and Skerrit are top 5 every week and they're not even mentioned? Just doesn't make sense.

Shep needs to be bumped back up. He's been to 2 UCI weekends and I think he's beat McDonald at all of them, Bereden at 1/2 (and most recent), Driscoll, Wells, Schouten, Heule etc.
Lindine is killing it, like a Honey Badger should, but he needs to put his big boy pants on and go to bigger races to get all of this love in the comments section. He's a level above where he was last year and he had a great nationals finishing 11th, but the ride of the day was probably Spencer Paxon finishing 12th, 4 seconds behind Lindine and he started in the last row (was Lindine in the 1st row?)!
Aaaand, last but not least. You held it against Trebon earlier this year because Powers had raced and won a few races he wasn't at, so... Trebon went back to back at Spooky cross AND has beat Powers so far head to head. Something to think about.
Just speaking up for the N.W!!!

What about Single Speed?????

Alex L 2 years ago

Did you just call jeremy Powers "The #1 wanked rider" in the USA? I think you did.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

I understand him being 16th now, since he's only really raced 1 or 2 weeks so far, but if Chris Jones is not top 8 by Nov 15. I will be shocked.

IAN! 2 years ago

It was stevie fisher ahead of Spencer Paxson, not Sean Bab at MFG. Them got misreported by cxmagazine.

KTL241 2 years ago

I'd like to see how Heule ranked a little higher. He was 19th in Tabor while Jonathan Page was 43rd; even Jamey beat Page despite Jamey having to run his bike the entire finishing straight (unfortunately there was a camera right on him at the crash corner so there is a video on Sporza.bf if you haven't seen if already, sorry Jamey hope you're feeling better). And while Page beat Jamey by quite a bit in Pilzen Heule was recovering still and had beaten Page previously in the year, as well as beating Powers on Gloucester day 1.

All in all I'm psyched to see: 1. Jeremy riding so well at the international level, 2. Tim Johnson finding some strength and spark with two solid World Cup results (extra respect for how he recovered from that start in Pilzen), 3. Heule being healed up and back where he belongs in races, and the most important thing, 4. So many US riders performing well internationally.
I am curious, how are you guys planning on ranking Page till the next time Powers, Tim, Jamie, and Heule go over to Europe? If he podiums then I'd understand a rocket to the top, but if it is equal to or worse than Jeremy and Tim have done, how are you guys going to rank it?

GOOOOOO MOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

I would still have Eckmann ranked in front of McDonald. He went TOP 5 at USGP Ft. Collins while McDonald couldn't go top 10. Had Yannick been in CZE last weekend he would have done better than 10th. Will they both be in Boulder?

Tuckerman is the real deal!

Amy J 2 years ago

Awesome to see Aaron Tuckerman getting the love here! He has been the strongest regional rider in the North West all season. He'll get his chance to shine to the big stage in Bend this December!

ANTHONY CLARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the truth 2 years ago

I expect we'll see Coryn and Ashley James come on strong the second half of this season for U23. Kaitlin is not a lock for Nationals by any means.

Nice job. I think you are right on with the possible exception of Myerson. I doubt he cares though as it appears he is leading the vote for the Men of Cyclocross Calendar. My wife and daughter disagree with the high ranking of Myerson in that category. They are leaning toward J-Pow for Mr. December. They prefer the pretty-boy, wash your ears out with Poland Springs before you take the podium look. With Myerson, you get the hang me by my ears look. All kidding aside, I can't wait for the USGP in Louisville in two weeks. it is looking like the East and West will finally meet up in the middle of the Country. Should be fun to watch and will be the next big shake up of your rankings. Thanks for entertaining us.

So Myerson said on twitter he could place 20th if all these guys raced tomorrow... what!? 10 of the guys ranked in front of him between 10th and 43rd have raced and beat Adam week in and week out all season long in the North East and the rest have been riding just as fast in other parts of the usa. And forget about top 20, those guys are might as well be in a different league! I don't understand how he can barley go top 10 at North East races and think that's good enough for top 20 in North America. Maybe last year, but no way so far this season.

AC,

That was a typo. Yannick is back in.

NECX 2 years ago

Never mind having Adam Myerson as a cycling coach, I want him as a dating coach. I think he'd encourage me to do bad things, things I'm not comfortable with doing.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

Wheres Yannick Eckmann?

h__B 2 years ago

You need more Anthony Clark in these videos. Even if it's just a little bit of Anthony Clark.

AZcross 2 years ago

No way Myerson is ranked 43rd! UNLESS YOU ARE USING HIS RESULTS TO RANK HIM, IN WHICH CASE HE SHOULD BE RANKED 43RD YOU HOMERRRRRRS!
