So 2 years ago at the USAC talent ID camp, the Colorado coaches who want to stack the deck against the non altitude racers, decide who is talented by taking them to 10,000 ft. and doing a time trial. Yep, Seth was dead last. The kids get fed up and leave mountain bike racing. |

I raced with Seth over in Europe this summer while on the National team. Although we were obviously all at slightly different ability levels, it was very apparent that Seth was on a completely different tier. He was by far the strongest of the Junior Men in the country this year, and it's a real shame Nationals couldn't reflect that. Like every other country in the World, the U.S. needs to put regulations on how high National races can be. This shouldn't have to be such a subject of debate, it should be just a given. Why do we have this problem!? |

The same favoritism that landed Seth a farther back start at the Worlds will prevail because the nationals for the next 2 years will be at altitude. |

13th at high altitude nationals but 18th at worlds without optimal start position. If I was Subaru Trek I might think about picking up Kemp and lighting a little fire under Finsterwald for the U23 squad next year. |
