The Monavie/ Cannondale team has more on their schedule this week then the hardest bike race on the planet. While in Costa Rica the team's six riders went to visit a shelter for children fighting cancer. The team's objective goes far beyond shaking hands and passing out team gear. Over the next year, the they will be raising money for the shelter through the sale of a special addition coffee and presenting their donation at the 2010 edition of the race. Full deatils will be released soon.

Like the goals of this team, the goal for Cyclingdirt is to bring you more than just another race coverage. We want to bring you all the great behind the scenes events that go into doing an Epic race like La Ruta in a foreign country. We want it to feel like you're here with us.

Check out the team's own report from today on their website: http://monavie-cannondale.com/news/childrens-cancer-hospital-san-jose-costa-rica
