Race highlights from a dramatic day of racing at the Boulder reservoir. Today's Boulder Cup was race number eight in the North American Cyclocross Trophy series. The conditions may have been opposite of the day prior, but the rider at the front was exactly the same.

The eighth round of the North American Cyclocross Trophy picked up today in Boulder, Colorado right where it left off in Longmont. While the course was anything but similar, the faces at the front of the race were all but identical. The Boulder reservior proved to be one of the most exciting race courses of the season both for racers and spectators alike. Katie Compton lead an elite group of women off the starting line and in to the days first of many sand pits. She would not see another rider in front of her for the remainder of the race, with the exception of those which she began lapping barley half way through. He two wins this weekend only further solidify her place as top ranked rider in the world (, and on Cyclingdirt!) Amy Dombroski, propelled by a strong start, would finish best of the rest, matching her career best second place from last weekend. Behind, the fight for the podium was furious. Kellie Emmett looked the strongest in the early goings as she put time into a chase pack containing Alison Dunlap, Meredith Miller, and Barb Howe. But by the half way point, a visibly laboring Emmett had been swallowed up by the group, led by a determined Dunlap. Alison continued her momentum and eventually separated herself to finish third, solo. Meredith Miller rode in fourth, followed by Emmett in fifth, Barb How in sixth, and roadie Alison Powers in seventh. Brief Unoficial Results: Men: Women: 1. KFC 2. Amy Dombroski 3. Alison Dunlap 4. Meredith Miller 5. Kellie Emmett 6. Barb Howe 7. Alison Powers
