Best of 2009: Crash There were some bigger, more exciting, and more painful crashes caught on camera in 2009, but none caused quite the reaction as the Tim Johnson/Jonathan Page tangle at the NACT in Gloucester, MA. Enjoy...

Page Crash at GP Gloucester Day 2
1-19 of 19 result(s)

I happens all the times. From my eye it looks deliberate, but not with bad intentions. Its just a way to make Page loose his momentum and spend extra energy.

when I was little and first started bike racing, my dad who had been a motorcycle racer told me about situations like this, "you're responsible for your own front wheel".

sm 11 months ago

While I agree that this stuff happens all the time, it looks pretty deliberate

Rubbin's racin... Bumping and divebombing is part of cross and even MTB.. Thats whyi ts important to be firm and hold your position if page had stepped up and closed the door nnothing would have happened

rubbin' is racin' and TJ clearly showed that he ain't skeered. YAY TJ. What? You don't think JP is above that style after racing in EURO for so long.

Long live real racing. Please don't pussify the sport.

You Pick:

A) Johnson went wide, slowed down, waited for Page to overlap wheels, then put his foot down and slid his rear wheel into page's front to take him down in retaliation for page tangling up with Driscoll earlier.

B) Page was being overly aggressive and should have given Johnson some space going in to the corner. If he wanted to ride his own line he should have passed Johnson beforehand.

C) Johnson came in too hot and had to put a foot out to make the turn. He should have been smoother and Page should have given him more space.

D) Rubbin's Racin'.

Great footage! I do not see anything wrong with the move. Two guys were aggressively going for it, Johnson had the inside line and seemed to be in front. They got tangled up and Page went down. It does not look intentional to me.

great video 11 months ago

It's bike racing people. Stuff like that happens all the time. Just cause it happened to Page at the front lets go crazy. It's not like he wasn't right there after the crash. It's not why he lost. Johnson was the strongman today. I love how people hate on it though. Makes me laugh. keep hating

Kinda reminds of motocross, thats a typical cornering move. any vet can see that coming. nice soft landing!

Jesse 11 months ago

If you've seen him race, Johnson puts his foot out all the time. If anything, Page shouldn't have been trying to come on the inside in the corner.

yup 11 months ago

i have to agree. why the sprint up and then the foot out in a corner where it is clearly not required. also, can hear the other guys saying they'll wait up. page didn't catch him so johnson was strong but that was cheap if you ask me.

great video showing a really poor sport. kind of reminds me of a certain moment at the Baltimore nationals when johnson decide to wheel kick todd wells before the barriers to keep him from hopping them...booo. shame on johnson. isn't 3 on 1 good enough?

That's Awesome!

hooo boy... no comment on that move. way to be in the right place with the camera colt!
