From Bishop on Day 5- "Ok if yesterday's was the Queen stage this was the King of pain stage! 20 min hike a bike, snow rock and marsh at 12000-12500! Oh yeah.. I took off on foot, won by a min, Travis 2nd Colby Pearce 3rd. I am wooped just 1 more day!" |

First time in my history of covering races that I could not even find the stage two race! No directions on the website, only a topo. After driving around on scary fire roads for hours, I stumbled onto the finish. At one point I had to drive for miles just to turn around the car..then inch it back in forth to avoid going into a ravine. Pretty funny now...but I was not a happy camper today. |
