Elite Men Dual Slalom
results
1. Eric Carter (GT)
2. Jeff Buchar
3. Jon Bucknell
4. Kevin Aiello (GT)

Eric Carter pedals to victory at Santa Ynez
On a windy day in Los Olivos, Eric Carter (GT) again proved that he is a master at riding gated courses. He won despite having competed in a grueling Super D race thirty minutes prior to racing dual slalom. Jeff Buchar was 2nd, Jon Buckell 3rd, and Carters GT team-mate Kevin Aiello was 4th.
Unlike last year when racers faced temperatures in excess of 100 degrees, this year's dual slalom was contested in a chilly 54 degrees and into a headwind. While the course seemed somewhat short and did not have a huge amount of elevation, it provided plenty of action. Many races were so close they were determined by a bike throw at the finish line.
Eric Carter commented after the race "The Central Coast is fantastic and we had a great time racing. The course was fun to ride and some old friends came out and raced with us. Man, I'm riding bikes and having fun so I don't know how you could find anything negative about it".
Elite Men Super D
Brief Results
1. Eric Bierman (Steven K)
2. Jordan Lopez (WTB/Santa Cruz)
3. Matthew Conners (Fisher 29er)
4. Derek Hermon (Bear Valley Bikes)
5. Eric Carter (GT)

Eric Bierman wins it on the flat
Despite having to back off his effort on the windy top section of the Super D course, Eric Bierman (Steven KS) created his margin of victory on the flat half mile run into the finish. Jordan Lopez (WTB/Santa Cruz) was third, and Matthew Connors (Fisher 29er) was third.
Bierman does endurance training by riding his mountain bike with knobby tires on road rides with his buddies riding road bikes. He credited both his Hutchinson tires and 29er for helping him win today.
He remarked after the race "It's a really windy day and it was just a matter of conserving some energy at the top. Luckily I had a carrot in front of me, Matthew Connors who finished third. I just keep pushing, pushing, pushing and everything worked well"
DereK Hermon was a fun race this weekend..
