After the racing in Fontana e were able to catch up with Alex Grant and Jeremiah Bishop of Team Cannondale Sho-Air at the historic Mission Inn in Riverside, CA. Grant and Bishop wanted an atmosphere to relax in before and between races. Naturally, it was also great backdrop for some fast bikes. Bishop broke his chain in the last 10 minutes of the XC race, allowing a charging Todd Wells to quickly eat away the gap that Bishop had created. Bishop credited his stage racing pedigree, and being older/wiser, for having a quick link ...
Sitting under the Southern California sun in Fontana was Judy Freeman's (Crank Brothers Race Club) new Scott Scale 700 650b hardtail. Freeman had been on a Scale 900 29er until this weekend. Scott takes a fresh approach when it comes to their team bikes, and we dig it. Crank Brothers Race Club gets its name on top of the down tube in matching team livery. Like the Scott 3Rox team, Race Club 11 gets their rider names in bold font across the top tube with home country flag, all pro. The Scale 700 had been in dealer's online catalogs ...

Jeremiah Bishop used his Cannondale F29er on Bonelli Park's numerous climbs to make his attacks that eventually snapped the elastic of Wells and Gange. Bishop took the win in the XC race and is now leading the PRO XCT series. Bishop's stopping power comes from a set of Magura MT-8's. A Fizik Arione R3 in Cannondale livery is perched on a Thompson Masterpiece 0-offset seatpost. Almost every SRAM sponsored ride in the XC race has made the switch from XX to XX1. Bishop's ENVE 29er XC rims are laced to DT Swiss 240 hubs and wrapp...
While the 29er hardtail was the bike of choice for Bonelli Park's fast descents and hard ascents, the Scott Scale 900 RC took every win in the Pro Women's field. Chloe Woodruff (Crank Brothers) used her Scale 900 RC equipped with Sram XX1 and a Magura TS8 fork for win the Super-D and the Short Track race. The Scales of Chloe Woodruff & Judy Freeman (Crank Brothers) eagerly await the start of short track race. The first win of the weekend came from Lesley Paterson (Scott), a current and former Xterra World Champion who wanted to come...
Watch more videos on CyclingDirt At NAHBS we reported on the launch of AluBOO bikes. Instead of using the carbon/bamboo mix from the original BOO Bikes, AluBOO uses an aluminum/bamboo mix. This combination of materials brings the price down to a more affordable level. The AluBOO is a "Swiss Army bike" it is set up to run cantilever, calibers or disc brakes. Along with your choice of stopping format you can also get a quiver of dropouts to run 120mm, 130mm, and 135mm spacing. The versatility was built into the bike to al...
Over the past several weeks we have been talking to race promoters, UCI registered team managers and UCI registered team members about UCI rule 1.2.019. The rule says "No (UCI) licence holder may participate in an event that has not been included on a national, continental or world calendar or that has not been recognized by a national federation…". Only problem was that USAC took the option of not enforcing it. Then started to only enforce it, but only when they felt like it. Then it was brought to our attention at the...
